Story Time Book, September 1st – The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Hungry CaterpillarLegend has it that Eric Carle’s insanely popular The Very Hungry Caterpillar was inspired by a hole-puncher and is one of George Dubya’s all-time favourite books. First published in 1969, this simple story of metamorphosis is as educational as it is entertaining for children.

This is one of my personal favourite books for children aged 2-5. It’s fun, cute and helps develop counting skills, with finger-sized holes through each page encouraging a ‘hands-on’ approach. I’ve read this with my own children for years – these days, my eldest (aged 11) even reads it to my four-year-old at bedtime!

Come join us in every Eason store in Ireland at 11am on Saturday, September 1st, as we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to children, adults and big kids!
